  Exclusion, Nursery, & Standards
Guy Tingos, Deputy Commissioner email Guy

The exclusion of pests from an agricultural system is an important component of any integrated pest management program. The Agricultural Commissioner regulates the commercial movement of plants into and out of Santa Barbara County.

  Pesticide Use Enforcement
Susan Bryant, Program Manager email Susan

Pesticides help protect crops and provide relief from the ravages of insects, diseases and weeds. Pesticides must be applied judiciously to maintain a quality product, healthy environment and safe working conditions. A permit or license may be required to use pesticides in a commercial situation.

 Weights and Measures
Guy Tingos, Deputy Commissioner email Guy

The Weights and Measures Division strives to "level the playing field" when weights and measures are involved in commercial transactions. As a consumer, you should feel assured that you're getting what you pay for with regard to a product's weight, volume, count, duration or advertised price.

Commercial weighing and measuring devices, package content statements and advertised prices are regularly inspected to ensure their accuracy. Consumers may make complaints of inaccuracy or fraud for investigation.
