The National Information Technology Center (NITC) is announcing the WebSphere® MQSeries® family of products. These products are installed, tested, and ready for implementation to improve your efficiency with increased information workflow and productivity. WebSphere® MQSeries® is adaptive middleware for integrating and enhancing your business processing activity.

WebSphere® MQSeries® messaging products enable application integration by helping business applications exchange information across different platforms, sending, and receiving data as messages. This product suite takes care of network interfaces, assuring "once and once only" delivery of messages, deals with communication protocols, dynamically distributes workload across available resources, handles recovery after system problems, and helps make programs portable. These products also provide a consistent multi-platform, application programming interface.

The latest release, Version 5 Release 3, offers added security using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the Internet standard for secure communication. There are enhanced performance features for applications with system scalability and reliability. This is particularly useful for clustering of systems that can share workload. It is now much simpler for programmers to use API exits to allow monitoring or implementing local standards.
