THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EDT SATURDAY. A PERSISTENT NORTHEASTERLY FLOW HAS CAUSED WATER LEVELS TO BUILD ONE TO ONE AND A HALF FEET ABOVE NORMAL ACROSS THE UPPER TIDAL POTOMAC RIVER. THE HIGHER THAN NORMAL WATER LEVELS MAY CAUSE MINOR OR NUISANCE FLOODING BETWEEN 10 PM AND 2 AM AT SENSITIVE LOCATIONS ALONG THE RIVER WITHIN ALEXANDRIA AND WASHINGTON DC.
