The Food Safety Information Handbook is a tremendous resource which is presented in a way that can be easily understood and used by a broad audience. The book briefly touches on a wide variety of subjects, including foodborne illness, food irradiation, regulations, genetically engineered foods, drinking water, and pesticides, and food allergies (and much more). The material presented serves as an introduction to food safety in general and allows or directs the reader to pursue additional research materials through the resources listed in the later chapters. This book is a useful tool and is recommended for a wide audience, including high school students, food industry professional, practicing environmental health professionals, school administrators (including parents, teachers), and academia.
