The National Research Initiative (NRI) was not reauthorized in the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (Pub. L. 110-246; i.e., the 2008 Farm Bill). Nanotechnology is a new enabling technology, that has the potential to revolutionize the agriculture and food systems. The goal of this program is to provide knowledge, expertise, and highly qualified R&D human capital in nanotechnology for food and agricultural systems.
