International Cooperative Biodiversity Group, NRI

CSREES, in partnership with National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy, is inviting applications for the establishment or continuation of International Cooperative Biodiversity Groups (ICBG) to address the interdependent issues in biodiversity exploration for applications in health, agriculture, and energy while supporting the sustainable use of these resources and enhanced economic growth. Sustainable Agriculture goals may include the discovery and development of new crop protection or animal health agents from natural products, or the production of biobased products, such as ethanol for bioenergy. The sustainable agriculture goals also should include promoting the preservation of the environment and the long term profitability of farming. NOTE: All applications should be submitted through NIH. A meritorious application may be requested to resubmit a component, identified by CSREES in consultation with the NIH, NSF, and DOE, after initial peer review of entire ICBG proposals for funding directly from CSREES.
