Ann Arbor Green Map Project
Washtenaw County & Ann Arbor have joined other areas around the world that have created green maps of attractions or interests in the area that promote sustainability efforts. This project is a component of the Green Map System (www.greenmap.org), an international effort in cities all over the world to inform the public and expand environmental, social and cultural services. The main objective of the project is to begin to raise awareness and inform our citizens as to some of the services and attractions that communities in the county share. We hope that by highlighting some of these special places, more of our citizens will understand our many interdependent environmental, social and economic systems and help them to further research the options they have to live in a sustainable way.

Wellington, New Zealand Green Map
The idea of the green Map is to give information on environmentally and ecologically significant sites in the Wellington Region - e.g. places of natural beauty, green businesses, environment centres, ecologically-designed buildings, bike and walking paths. It will also highlight environmental "Black Spots" - e.g. Owhiro Bay Quarry. Our long term goals are an electronic version to direct Wellingtonians and visitors to ecological significant places (both the environmental high and low spots), and a printed version with a subset of this information.
