Apple group targets Detroit
The Michigan Apple Committee, DeWitt, appears on three billboards in the greater Detroit area to boost apple sales in the state, according to a news release. Each board reads, "Buy Local. MichiganApples.com." Executive director Denise Donohue says the committee targeted southeast Michigan because the area's many autoworkers "know firsthand just how important it is to buy local and seek out locally-made, homegrown products."
