Agency
An entity that publishes rules or notices in the Federal Register.
The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Citation consists of the title number, the initials "CFR", the part and the section number. For example: 7 CFR 273.1 is Title 7, part 273 and section 273.1.
Comment
A written expression of an opinion or attitude by a member of the public to a government agency about a rulemaking or other action.

Date on which the period for submission of public comments ends

Company/Group/Association
Allows the submitter of a comment to enter any company, group, or association with whom he or she is affiliated
Compliance Date
Date by which affected parties must comply with a rule.

Date Received
Date Document is received by the system. For comments submitted through Regulations.gov, this is the date they were entered by the commenter; for comments submitted through other means, this date is entered into the system by the Agency.

Property
In a custom report, a property is a parameter defining the results produced by a report. For example, a report with a property reading "Comment Start Date is on or after 7/27/2006" would show all documents with a comment start date on or after July 27, 2006.
Question entered by the Agency for the Public to answer when commenting on a Docket
A radio button (sometimes called a "radial button") is a circular button on a web page that can be selected by the user to choose one of a predefined set of options. Radio buttons are used when there is a list of two or more options for the user to choose. In each instance on Regulations.gov, one of the radio buttons will already be selected by the system as a default. When the user selects a radio button, any previously selected radio button in the same group becomes deselected.
Regulatory Topic
Searchable topics for proposed rules and rules, such as Benefits, Business Opportunities, etc. These topics are determined based on the title and chapter of the Code of Federal Regulations which the rules affect.
RIN (Regulatory Identification Number)
A number assigned to each regulatory action to be used to cross-reference a regulatory action with the Unified Agenda of Federal Regulations which summarizes rules of each Federal agency.

The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
The Code of Federal Regulations is the codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government.
Provides icon(s) that can be accessed to view or save a Document. For Federal Register documents, these will always include PDF (Adobe Acrobat) and HTML (Web page) icons. For other documents, they may include documents in a number of supported file formats.
