Nature's Secret Larder - The Wild Food Resource

Home

Welcome to Nature's Secret Larder. Nature has always had a special place in my heart and from an early age I have been roaming woodlands, studying grasslands, foraging for wild foods and living amongst nature, being a part of it.

HomeI have a particular passion for wild foods and the hidden uses of plants and trees, a subject that these days falls under the collective name of bushcraft. This website has been designed to share with you some of my passions in life and help give you an intimate understanding of nature - how it works and how you can go back to your roots, adapt with the seasons and appreciate the wonders of the natural world, the sound of the rain drops and the aroma of autumn woodlands.

Nature is for everyone to enjoy and by learning some of these traditional and some secret skills comes an acceptance and love for nature, which I hope in turn makes us all appreciate what we have and how important it is to look after it for the future.

I have studied bushcraft for 22 years and have been teaching these skills for many years. I hold a degree in conservation and environmental issues and have been a conservation volunteer for 5 years. All of my courses are set out in a laid back atmosphere with a holistic approach to give you a different and rewarding experience - perhaps discovering your first giant puffball, making primitive fishing equipment to give you a sense of how our ansestors would have fished, or maybe the taste of sorrel, a wild green that first set me off on my adventure when I was 4 years old.

Nature has many facets, it's a subject we can never master, never tame, but always has something else for us to learn. I hope you get a taste of my specialist areas in nature through my site.

You can see some of my articles on the subject in various magazines, radio broadcasts, other websites

Enjoy, and thanks for visiting.
