WHAT'S NEW AT USDA RURAL
DEVELOPMENT?
October 7, 2008--US Senator Mitch
McConnell and USDA Rural Development State
Director Kenneth Slone delivered $4,171,000 to North Mercer Water
District.
The funding is for Phases I and II of their Master Plan of
Improvements,
affecting citizens in Mercer and Washington Counties, as well as
customers of
South Anderson Water District and Danville Water System in the near
future.

Welcome to the USDA Kentucky Rural
Development (RD) website. Rural Development is the primary federal provider of assistance to rural areas.
Our mission
is to promote
sustainable rural communities and to assist the residents of those
communities improve
their quality of life.
Rural Development's Business and Cooperative Programs, Housing Programs,
and Utilities Programs include a number of programs that assist rural communities
and rural
residents develop new or expand existing rural businesses, provide
financing to
purchase or repair single family homes and construct affordable rental
housing, and
fund community water and sewer service or other essential facilities.
Also,
Rural Development offers support and
technical assistance to local officials through its Community Development
Programs
