AddThis is now part of Clearspring! In case you’ve missed the widget phenomenon, Clearspring is the leading platform in the category. In fact, they created the widget category. The company helps end users move embeddable content from one website to another, with just a few mouse clicks. Our two companies have a lot in common and everybody is very pleased about this merger. Both AddThis and Clearspring enable the sharing of content, which is becoming one of the fastest growing and most popular forms of communication on the Web.
The AddThis service will continue to enable simplified sharing. Nothing will change on your website, nor will you need to take any action either. I am confident that Clearspring is 100% committed to providing sharing tools that retain the look, feel and integrity of your website. As we move forward, we do have plans for integrating some of Clearspring’s analytics tools, to help you better track how your content is being spread. Of course, we’ll get you more information on those improvements as they become available.
A little history on this news: We’ve been working with Clearspring for a while. The relationship started as a proposed partnership however, after working closely together, we realized that the relationship was even more complementary then either side had originally anticipated. So, the leadership from both companies determined that together we could provide publishers with much more value as a single, unified entity. We saw that we could create a universal sharing platform for the Web. So, there you have it.
