The CSREES National Program Staff and the Committee for Shared Leadership for Water Quality met with the Water Quality Coordinators at the National Conference in La Jolla, CA. The purpose of this meeting was to share the initial vision of a "CSREES Road Map for Water” and to gather input from across the Nation on priority issues.

We discussed some potential quantitative goals for water and the Coordinators spent considerable time identifying what they believed to be the key issues for USDA with regards to water resources. The discussion focused on 4 broad categories:
Water Quality
Water Quantity
Human Dimensions
Technology
This information will be used by CSREES in planning our Water Programs and related requests for applications.

Please review the full presentation including the issues identified by the Water Quality Coordinators.

If you would like to submit additional comments on these four categories, please send submit these to water@csrees.usda.gov and indicate “water road map” in the subject line.
