The Science Information System
(SIS) is an information system established by the Chief Biologist
of BRD to provide rapid access to project level summaries. SIS is
designed to meet the needs of BRD and will be shared with
partners, clients, public, and special interest groups. The
purpose of the SIS is to provide a comprehensive scientific
information data base comprising summary descriptions of the
objective(s), location, funding sources, project description,
approach, anticipated application of results, products, duration,
progress and results of BRD scientific efforts.
Mission of the BRD
As a Division of the United
States Geological Survey, USGS, the Biological Resources Division
(BRD) works with others to provide the scientific understanding
