Citrus Fruit Display and Tasting Event

The University of California Lindcove Research and Extension Center is hosting their annual Citrus Fruit Display in December. Over 200 varieties of fruit are grown in the UC LREC Foundation Block, an orchard that provides budwood to the California citrus nursery industry. The buds from this Foundation block are used by nurserymen to propagate disease free, true-to-type trees for California’s commercial citrus growers and homeowners.  During the Citrus Fruit Display day, you can see and taste more than 100 citrus varieties that are close to maturity in December.

Citrus growers are invited to attend the Citrus Fruit Display and Tasting on Friday December 14th starting at 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M in the Conference Center.  Researchers and extension personnel will be present to answer your questions.  This is an excellent opportunity to taste and evaluate citrus selections. In addition, at 10:15 A.M., there will be a tour of the Demonstration block to allow you to see the growth of the trees that produce many of these varieties.
