Viewing Tips
Browsers:
The Plant Management Network is designed for a wide variety of
browsers and operating systems. However, the network and its journals are optimized for
viewing in Internet Explorer 6.0 for Windows with text size set at medium. If you'd like, you can download Internet
Explorer free from Microsoft®.
Netscape Users: Pages may occasionally load incorrectly. If so,
refresh your view by clicking "Reload" on the toolbar. The new
Netscape 6.0 appears to solve this and certain other problems of older versions of
Netscape.
If you'd like, you can download
Netscape 6.0 free from Netscape.
Frames:
Some pages within the Network use frames. If you are using an old browser, you may get a message saying
"This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them."
You will need to download a newer browser, such as those discussed above.
Java:
Whatever browser you use, be sure that it has been set to enable Java scripts.
Monitors:
Set your monitor to
display more than 256 colors. Optimal screen screen resolution
is designed to be 640 x 480 pixels.
Fonts:
The fonts used by
The Plant Management Network are Verdana (sans-serif) and Georgia (serif). If
you don't have these fonts, most browsers will substitute suitable
replacements. If you wish, you can download
Verdana, Georgia, and other fonts free from Microsoft®.
PDFs and Acrobat:
Some files at The Plant Management Network are provided in PDF format. PDF files require Acrobat Reader software, which you can download free from Adobe®.
