The Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association operates and promotes Certified Farmers' Markets in local communities throughout Northern California.

Come visit one of our farmers' markets for the freshest seasonal produce, all California Grown. To learn what's in the markets now, download the Farmers' Market Seasonal Calendar.

This week's featured product is Broccoli.

Winter is tough, unless you’re a broccoli fiber. Winter broccoli is softer and sweeter than its summer counterpart – that’s because warm, summer weather encourages the plants to flower prematurely. Our cool, California coastal climate permits time for the healthful plant to draw up and develop a host of flavor-enhancing elements and nutrients like vitamins B and C, minerals like iron and calcium, as well as diabetes-defender chromium and cancer-fighters quercitin and glutathione.

Bake, steam, boil, or slice raw this winter powerhouse and top with citrus, nuts, seeds, cheese, and/or herbs.

Want to sell in a farmers' market?

The Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association welcomes new certified agricultural producers and food producers to sell within the 40+ markets that PCFMA operates each week. For details and application forms, visit the Resources for Producers page.

As a general rule, PCFMA does not provide space for jewelry, crafts or other non-agricultural or non-food items in its markets. However, a limited amount of space may be available at the Saturday markets in Vallejo, Vacaville and Tracy for local artisans wishing to sell crafts of their own design and creation.

PCFMA's mission is to establish and operate community-supported certified farmers' markets and other direct marketing outlets that provide: viable economic opportunities for California farmers and food producers, local access to farm fresh products, support for local businesses and community organizations, and education concerning food, nutrition and the sustainability of California agriculture.
