Kilgore to lead natural resources team
Department of Forest Resources associate professor Mike Kilgore has been named interim head of the new Lessard Outdoor Heritage Council, which will recommend how money raised by the recently passed constitutional amendment should be spent on fish and wildlife habitat.

CFANS recognized for diversity work
CFANS is the 2008 winner of the University of Minnesota's Office for Equity and Diversity's Outstanding Unit Award. The award was announced Nov. 20 and cites the college's "transformative work that is well-resourced, linked to its collegiate mission and strategic planning, and connected to every part of its operation."
Susan Weller named Bell director
Entomologist Susan Weller has been named director of the Bell Museum of Natural History. Weller, the first female director in the museum’s 136-year history, assumes the post as the university enters its second year of seeking bonding approval for a new Bell Museum facility in St. Paul.

Energy grants fuel new research projects
