  • Students must present a picture ID (University of Minnesota ID card, driver's license, state ID, or passport).

  • Financial and disciplinary holds must be cleared in order to receive a transcript.

Official Transcripts

Important information about official transcripts

  • Transcripts will not be issued for individuals with financial holds.
  • All official transcripts are certified and signed by the University registrar; each is mailed in a separate sealed envelope. Do not open the envelope if you are forwarding to another party (institution, employer, etc.) Open the envelope only if you have ordered for personal use. Please note: Multiple transcripts (each in its own sealed white envelope) sent to a single address will be enclosed in a manila envelope; you may open the manila envelope.
  • To ensure prompt processing, please provide all information requested by the online or print form. Incomplete information will result in a delay in processing your request.
  • Transcript requests are not held for grades or degrees. Most grades will be posted to official transcripts approximately one week after the last day of final examinations. Degrees will be posted shortly after the Office of the Registrar receives clearance from the student's college office. The diplomas are then mailed to the students approximately six to eight weeks after the end of the term in which they are conferred. To check the status of your grades or degree, View or Print Your Unofficial Transcript.
