Non-degree student status
You are a non-degree student if you are not officially admitted into a University of Minnesota degree program for the semester(s) that you are enrolled in classes. Non-degree status includes those students who are admitted for a future semester and students who are degree-seeking at another institution, but taking classes at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Steps to success
Step 1: Register for classes
Step 2: Initiate your University Internet account
- Your Internet ID gives you access to many secured online services.
- All official University communications are sent year-round to you University-assigned e-mail account.
- Details and support
Step 3: Verify or change your registration
Step 4: Update your personal information
Step 5: Check your student account
- E-mail notification when online bill is ready
- Pay due in full on the initial due date
Step 6: Search for financial aid options
Step 7: Get a U Card
Step 8: View your grades & transcripts
