1 PURPOSE

 The purpose of this regulation is to define the service to be made available to the Rural Telephone Bank by the Department.

 

2 CREATION

 The Rural Telephone Bank was established by Public Law 92-12, as an agency of the United States under the general supervision and direction of the Secretary of Agriculture. The Administrator of the Rural Electrification Administration is designated to serve as its chief executive officer with the title of Governor. The Rural Telephone Bank is authorized to utilize the facilities and services of employees of any agency of the Department without cost to the Bank.

 

3 CANCELLATION

 This regulation cancels 1 AR 425, Chapter 6, Section 10, "Rural Telephone Bank."

 

4 POLICY

 The Rural Electrification Administration and all other agencies of the Department shall, at the request of the Governor of the Bank, make available to the Bank without cost to it, their facilities and the services of their employees to the extent consistent with the discharge of other responsibilities of the agency receiving such request from the Governor.
