One Week Left To Register For Flood Aid In Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Families, individuals and businesses in Missouri that have suffered damage from severe storms and flooding events from June 1 – August 13 have one week to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster assistance.

Recovery officials urge residents and business owners with disaster-related damage in the disaster-designated counties (Adair, Andrew, Callaway, Cass, Chariton, Clark, Gentry, Greene, Harrison, Holt, Johnson, Lewis, Lincoln, Linn, Livingston, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Nodaway, Pike, Putnam, Ralls, St. Charles, Stone, Taney, Vernon and Webster) to call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 to register. Lines are open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Register online anytime at www.fema.gov. The deadline to apply for assistance is September 30, 2008.

The deadline to submit loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is also September 30.  SBA loan applications are a key part of the FEMA registration process.  If you are a homeowner or renter and SBA determines your cannot afford a loan, you may be referred for other eligible assistance.
