Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge Announces Director of International Affairs

Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge is pleased to announce the appointment of Cresencio Arcos of Virginia to serve as the Director of International Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security.  Mr. Arcos was most recently the Regional Vice President and Managing Director for International Public Affairs at AT&T Corporation.  Before working with AT&T, Mr. Arcos retired with the rank of Ambassador from the Department of State after a 25-year career.  His last position was Senior Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement from 1993 - 1995.  He also served as U.S. Ambassador to Honduras and as the White House Coordinator for Public Diplomacy on Central America.  Mr. Arcos has a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
