Cyber Monday Deal Roundup
A bunch of people followed bloggers' advice and did their shopping from home on the day after Thanksgiving: Online sales were up 1% from last year, reports TechFlash, citing a comScore report, with "$534 million was spent on online purchases Friday, which compares to $531 million last year." Media Memo writes, "If flat is the new up, then online retailers should be doing handstands." Then again, Smith Household writes in a post at 5:12am, "I left the house by 4:20am and there were several cars who followed me to Rockdale! I was inside of Wal Mart by 4:50!" 3-Penny Princess lists twelve reasons to avoid shopping on Black Friday. Bloggers are helping you get the same or better deals online, and you have the weekend to prepare. Cyber Monday explains, "Cyber Monday is the Monday after Black Friday and many traditional brick & mortar retailers along with online-only retailers put up amazing deals for you to take advantage of," and they're collecting store ads. (Their sister site is Black Friday Online.) All the Rage explains that waiting to shop until Monday is actually smart: "Online retailers are as nervous as grooms on their wedding morning."
