SummaryGAO reviewed the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) new rule on monthly actuarial rates and monthly supplementary medical insurance premium rates. GAO found that (1) the rule would announce the monthly actuarial rates for aged and disabled enrollees in the Medicare Supplementary Medical Insurance (SMI) program for 2002 and the monthly SMI premium rate to be paid by all enrollees during 2002 and (2) CMS complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule. |
