    “Overall, most of the schools on the NI (Needs Improvement) list that received (School Improvement) Program services subsequently experienced improvements in their students’ performance."

    "It should also be noted that the (School Improvement) Program is voluntary for schools below NI (Needs Improvement) Level 7, and yet we found that most Needs Improvement schools take advantage of the (School Improvement) Program services. During the 2005-2006 school year, 328 of 354 Needs Improvement schools received Program services."

    “We found that school administrators felt that the (School Improvement) Program was effective. Of 95 school system superintendents surveyed by GaDOE in September 2006, 82 (86%) indicated the (School Improvement) Program was effective in assisting local school systems implement school improvement. Similarly, our interviews with eight administrators of Needs Improvement schools found that seven of the eight were satisfied with the (School Improvement) Program services they had received. Overall, the administrators viewed the (School Improvement) Program as a valuable resource."
