Cole: thinks social media advertisers will have to be members of communities. Sounds like @johnbattelle conversational marketing.
Cole: up to 2005, everything free. Began to change w iTunes. Unbundling of album, etc. Radiohead: only 12% took for free.
Cole thinks that TV an exception: will grow hugely as it expands to mobile devices. But all media survive, if it adapts.
Movie theaters peaked in 46, 4.3B tickets - now w 2x the population, 1.4B. In 80's #1 album sold 15M copies (up to 30M), 2008, ~3M.
