Highlight Photo GOV. EASLEY DISPATCHES ASSESSMENT TEAMS TO SURVEY TORNADO DAMAGE 11/17/2008
Gov. Mike Easley announced today that North Carolina damage assessment teams have begun surveying destruction in Johnston and Wilson counties from a tornado that damaged or destroyed more than 50 structures in those counties early Saturday morning. Two people were killed as the twister tore through communities while people were sleeping.

GOV. EASLEY ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY "BOOZE IT & LOSE IT" CAMPAIGN 11/28/2008
Gov. Mike Easley announced today that state and local law enforcement officers will be out in force over the next month as part of a "Booze It & Lose It" campaign to remove impaired drivers from the state's roads this holiday season. GOV. EASLEY TO FAST TRACK CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO STIMULATE STATE ECONOMY 11/26/2008
Gov. Mike Easley announced today that he is fast-tracking more than $700 million in capital improvement projects to keep North Carolina's economy moving as the national economy continues to struggle. The governor will put several priority education and public safety projects on the Council of State's agenda for approval which will create new jobs and help stimulate the state economy. full story...
