Washington, DC -- Hazardous toys are still sold in stores across the country, despite a new law overhauling the nation’s product safety watchdog agency, according to the 23rd annual toy safety survey released today by the Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group (WISPIRG). The group also warned that the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is taking actions to delay one of the new law’s toxic toy protections indefinitely.

KAGEN: LOWERING HEALTH CARE COSTS WILL HELP AUTO MANUFACTURERS SAVE MONEY

Washington, DC -- Congressman Steve Kagen, M.D. said action to solve the nation’s health care crisis will go a long way toward helping our automotive industry stay afloat and regain their ability to compete.  On his weekly telephone press conference today, Kagen pointed to a study by the Center for Automotive Research that says that General Motors spends more than $1,500 per vehicle on health care while Toyota spends just over $300.
