The explanation of the data can be found at http://www.census.gov/csd/sbo/intro2002SBO.htm. The census’ interactive data is sorted by industrial sectors and sorted by state.The SBO provides data on the number of firms, sales and receipts, employment, and annual payroll for kind of business, by gender, Hispanic or Latino origin, and race.
