Wayne Animal Shelter

One of the saddest things is an old dog or old cat left in a shelter. In this disposable society, imagine the fear, sadness and confusion that an old shelter dog or cat faces. Even worse, their time in the shelter is spent watching people walk past their cages, barely seeing them, instead rushing to the cute puppies and kittens. The Wayne Animal Shelter hopes to help some of these forgotten souls find loving homes. Please consider adopting a senior dog or cat, you won't be sorry. No chewing, already housetrained, mellow and sweet. Your decision to adopt a senior pet will be rewarded with unconditional love and devotion.

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month

Wayne's Pet of the Week

My name is Lacie. I'm a really beautiful female orange tabby that came to the shelter very pregnant. As soon as my babies were old enough they all found their forever homes. But now, its my turn. I have been here a very long time. I'd love to find my furever home too. I'm very friendly and love people. Please open your heart and come meet me!

Featured Department of the Month

The Wayne Environmental Commission was established by Township ordinance.  This quasi-autonomous body engages in a variety of environmental activities to protect natural resources and encourage their wise use.  Commissioners serve without compensation; however, Wayne Township does provide a minimal budgetary allowance for certain administrative and educational expenses.
