Summary

GAO reviewed the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) new rule on the control of emissions from nonroad spark ignition engines and equipment. GAO found that (1) the rule sets emission standards for new nonroad spark-ignition engines that will substantially reduce emissions from these engines, and adopts evaporative emission standards for vessels and equipment using any of these engines; and (2) the EPA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
