Congressional Review Act Reports

Pursuant to 5 U.S.C. ยง 801(a)(2)(A), GAO provides a report to the committees of jurisdiction of both Houses of Congress on major rules proposed by a federal agency (Federal Agency Major Rules) within 15 days of the receipt of a copy of each rule at GAO or publication in the Federal Register, whichever is later. These are called reports on federal agency major rules. GAO also maintains a publicly available database of information on major rules and on non-major rules for which reports have not been written.
