Summary

GAO reviewed the Department of the Interior, Fish and Wildlife Service's new rule on early-season migratory bird hunting. GAO found that (1) the final rule establishes the final rule establishes the early-season frameworks from which the states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands may select dates, limits, and other options available to them for the 2007-2008 migratory bird hunting seasons; and (2) Fish and Wildlife Service complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
