11 a.m. - Tours of Campus for Faculty and Staff
Are you new to campus, but have never had a campus tour? If you have worked here for some time would you like to have an "official" campus tour? The Admissions Office will be hosting tours of campus for staff and faculty immediately following the all-campus opening meeting on Wednesday, January 21. The student-led tours will last approximately one hour. If you have questions, please contact Jen Sell in the Admissions Office at ext. 3500 or at jennifer.sell@uwrf.edu.

Wellness Wednesdays are changing to Mind/Body Mondays beginning Monday, February 2, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Falcons Nest of the UC. Student Health and Counseling Services will offer free weekly yoga classes spring semester to all students, faculty, and staff. Please bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. In this day-long seminar we will examine and explore the authentic roots of peace, joy, and well-being. What truly brings us happiness in our daily living? As we discover both the internal and external forces that nourish us - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually - we will look at how to cultivate this wisdom of wellness within our many roles at home, at work, and in our communities.
Dr. Linda DiRaimondo practices integrative psychiatry and psychotherapy in Madison, Wisconsin. She combines conventional medicine with holistic practices to address the health and well-being of mind, body, and spirit.

Experience the benefits of yoga on your lunch break. Work on strength, flexibility and relaxation. This 45-minute class is designed so you can head right back to work. Bring a yoga mat or towel. Instructor Tracey Mortensen is co-owner and instructor at Inspiring Actions Yoga Studio and Wellness Center. 7-8:30 p.m. - Community Classroom: Movement and the Brain; Natural Balance
at any Age

Movement strategies are being used to provide positive alternatives for learning problems involving difficulty in focusing on learning tasks. Adopted from Tai Chi, eurythmy of Waldorf Education and Brain Gym, these techniques are supported by research in brain development and learning. The simple movements of each set of techniques can be performed by anyone and have many practical applications. When practiced regularly, these movements can sharpen concentration, balance and general feeling of well-being. Participants are encouraged to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Presenter Tim Holleran is a professor in the Teacher Education department. Co-sponsored by the River Falls Public Library and UWRF Outreach.

We are very fortunate to have Tim Wise join us with his lecture: Beyond “Diversity”: Challenging Racism in an Age of Backlash. Tim Wise is among the most prominent anti-racist writers and activists in the U.S. He has spoken to over 300,000 people in 48 states, and on over 350 college campuses, including Harvard, Stanford, and the Law Schools at Yale and Columbia.
