If something is exciting, invigorating, and completely unexpected, you want to be right in the middle of it. For you, the best way to learn about something is to do it -- in the classroom, on the playing field, on the theater stage, and out in the community.
We know that for most people, "real life" includes jobs, kids, and a million things to do. Going back to school means adding one more thing to your list.
So how does getting a degree fit into the mix? For each person, the story is a little different. See how some of our students have balanced life and learning and made it all the way -- at last -- to graduation.
Thinking about getting your Master’s degree? Augsburg is the smart choice for professionals who want to further their careers. Small classes. Supportive learning communities. Focus on social justice, global perspectives, and ethical leadership. You’ll find it all in graduate studies at Augsburg. And we have some really great coffee, too.
You’re more than just aware of environmental issues. You are a living, breathing, earth-changing member of the human race. And now, you’ve met your match.
The Environmental Studies program at Augsburg College combines biology, chemistry with political science, history, literature, economics, math, communications, and social work. We teach students not only to be informed about environmental issues, but also how to make an impact on their world.
Being an Auggie athlete means success both on and off the field. When Auggies aren’t setting school records or winning sportsmanship awards, they’re busily racking up academic honors. And between classes and practice, they’re out serving as mentors to young athletes or lending a hand in the community. Wherever they are, you can bet they are active and involved.
Early morning coffee. Life in Urness. Service-learning project in Cedar-Riverside. Study abroad in Guatemala. Campus ministry trip to the Gulf Coast. Gospel Praise concert at the Dakota. Intramural basketball at 9. Study breaks at Nabo. Ride the light rail downtown. At Augsburg, you can do it all!
You've spent some great years here, and now you're out in the world doing the amazing things that Augsburg grads are known for. Though you’ve graduated or moved on, you’re still an Auggie. Through Homecoming, Advent Vespers, athletic events, Velkommen Jul, Center for Global Education programs, and the Alumni Online Community, we’ll help you stay connected to other Auggies far and wide!
At the age of 14, Chau "Tina" Nguyen's mother put her on a plane to the United States from Dalat City, Vietnam. Neither woman was sure when they would see each other again. Six years later, Chau not only finished her degree at Augsburg, but she was able to share graduation day with her mother thanks to the generosity of donors Jim and Kathy Haglund.
Your gift, large or small, can make a huge difference in a student's life.
When you come to Augsburg, you’ll be right in the middle of everything. Our campus is set in a vibrant neighborhood just minutes from downtown Minneapolis. There you can find internships, museums, theaters, shopping, and sporting events. Or you can take the light rail train south from campus to the world-famous Mall of America, beautiful Minnehaha Falls, or the Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport.
