This Section 319 Nonpoint Source Success Stories Web site features stories about primarily nonpoint source-impaired waterbodies where restoration efforts have led to documented water quality improvements. Waterbodies are separated into three categories of stories, depending on the type of water quality improvement achieved:
- Stories about partially or fully restored waterbodies
- Stories that show progress toward achieving water quality goals
- Stories about ecological restoration

This section includes waterbodies that had water quality problems that were not caused by a pollutant as recognized by EPA but rather by issues such as habitat alteration or changes in flow regime. These waterbodies are not on the 303(d) list, but deserve recognition for successful restoration efforts that led to water quality improvements. Get more details.

This Web site presents each story on a separate Web page, and a printable PDF (About PDF) version is linked on the story page. The printable individual story is no more than two pages long. Printable versions of collections of the stories are available for download below and are very large files, which may require long download times.
These volumes represent the early progress of the section 319 Nonpoint Source Control Program. The format and required criteria for published stories have since changed. Information found on the legacy pages may be outdated.
