Research Priorities in Acute Injury Care: On October 22, 2008 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control announced the availability of funding for the Research Priorities in Acute Injury Care (Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number 93.136). The purpose of this program is to evaluate strategies to translate, disseminate, implement and adopt science-based recommendations and guidelines for the care of acutely injured persons; or determine and evaluate the components of trauma systems that contribute to improved outcomes for acutely injured persons. The application deadline is January 21, 2009. Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, hospitals, non-profit organizations, research institutions and faith based organizations. Unintentional Poisoning from Prescription Drug Overdoses in Adults: On October 22, 2008 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control announced the availability of funding for the Unintentional Poisoning from Prescription Drug Overdoses in Adults (Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance number 93.136). The purpose of this program is to support research that will build the scientific base for the prevention of unintentional poisonings from drug overdoses in the adult population. The application deadline is January 21, 2009. Eligible applicants include institutions of higher education, hospitals, non-profit organizations, research institutions and faith based organizations.
