Help with Federal Agencies If you live in the Sixth Congressional District of California, and you are experiencing a problem with a federal agency, my office may be able to assist you in determining the status of your case and seeking a resolution to it.
The many areas in which we can be of assistance include: passports, immigration, Social Security, Medicare, veterans' benefits, federal retirement benefits, Internal Revenue Service, small business loans, and federal housing aid.

Federal Grants Organizations and individuals in Sonoma and Marin Counties can contact my local offices to learn about federal funds that may be available for their program or project. My staff can conduct grant searches in the computerized Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance, and provide information about what federal grants are available. If an organization or individual chooses to apply for a federal grant, my office can assist in monitoring the status of the application.

Marin County Office - (415)507-9554 Flag Requests If you live in the 6th Congressional District my office can assist you in obtaining an American flag that has flown over the United States Capitol. Each flag comes with a special certificate that includes the date it was flown over the Capitol and the occasion for which the flag was flown. Print out and send THIS FORM along with a check made out to Office Supply Account CA0631 to my Washington, DC office.
Please allow six to eight weeks for the flag to be flown and delivered.

Internships An internship in my Washington, DC office is a great way to see firsthand how government works. As an intern, you will learn about Congress by assisting with the daily operations of the office, including legislative, administrative and community outreach projects.
Internships last approximately three months, and require a commitment of at least ten hours per week.

Service Academy Nominations Young men and women from Sonoma and Marin Counties who are interested in obtaining nominations to West Point, the Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy, or the Merchant Marine Academy, should contact my Marin County Office at (415)507-9554 during the Spring or Summer of their junior year in high school.
An application packet, including information on the Congressional nomination process and opening a service academy file, will be mailed to you. Applications must be received by my office by November of each year.
Presidential Greetings If you are a resident of California's Sixth Congressional District, my office can help you obtain a greeting card from President and Mrs. Bush. Requests should be received three weeks in advance of the occasion, and they will be mailed 10 days prior to the date of the event. Cards are available for birthdays (80+), anniversaries (50+), births, deaths, Eagle Scout and Girl Scout Gold Awards, and high school and college graduations.
