Fortenberry Votes to Sustain Veto; Calls for Common Ground

Washington D.C. - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry today voted to sustain the presidential veto of the Iraq war supplemental legislation. Following his vote, Fortenberry released the following statement:

We need a new way forward. It is now time for Congress to work together with the President to provide our troops with the critical funding they need while promoting a rapid stabilization of Iraq. We must find common ground to ensure that our troops have adequate resources and to position Iraqis to take responsibility for their own country.
