Washington, DC - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry today released the following statement regarding the retirement of Major General Roger Lempke, Adjutant General of the Nebraska National Guard:
“General Lempke is an exceptional leader. He has served his country, the state of Nebraska, and those under his command with extraordinary dedication, honor, and humility. He led the Nebraska National Guard during a time of great challenge and high demand, supporting our military efforts abroad and protecting Nebraskans during times of emergency at home.
He was a skillful, respected advocate for the National Guard, its troops, and their families. I was pleased to have had the opportunity to work with him on numerous occasions, during which I came to greatly admire his leadership and integrity. On behalf of Nebraskans, I thank General Lempke for his exemplary service. His work has helped strengthened our state and nation.”
