THE 27th NATIONAL CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION
2009 District of Columbia Call for Entries
Eligibility
= Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
Artwork will be judged by a panel of distinguished artists using the following criteria: technique - skill and command of media; creativity - imagination and expression; aesthetics - critical artistic values; originality - unique expression and interpretation; artistic merit - superior expression and artistry; and visual impact - qualitative effects of artwork. Artwork created by the District of Columbia First Place winner will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol along with other First Place winners from across the country in the Congressional Art Competition national exhibition for one year. All District of Columbia artwork submissions will be displayed at a special exhibit and reception hosted by Congresswoman Norton. Awards and prizes include sports tickets, gift certificates, U.S. Savings Bonds, scholarships, and much, much, more! A reception and awards ceremony for all participants, and winners will be announced at the reception.
