December 8 , 2006
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas, CA) was named the top Republican on the House Rules Committee for the 110th Congress this week by Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH). Dreier said he will continue to pursue and agenda of reform, economic growth, and the promotion of democracy world wide from his position on the Rules Committee. He said he will also continue to advocate strongly for the needs of Southern California.
"The new Congress will present both challenges and opportunities, and I look forward to tackling both from the Rules Committee," Dreier said. "I will continue to work for the reform of Congress and the lobbying and ethics process. I will also be a determined advocate for policies that keep our economic expansion going. With more than 7 million jobs created since 2003, we know our policies are working. The support of emerging democracies will also remain a top priority for me, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in this effort."
