UNITED STATES PAGE PROGRAM

Thank you for your interest in the United States Senate Page Program.  This program provides a tremendous opportunity for students to learn about Congress, while spending a semester in Washington, DC. Pages play a vital role in the daily operation of the U.S. Senate.

Duties include, but are not limited to, delivery of correspondence and legislative material, taking messages for Senators, preparing the Chamber for Senate sessions, and carrying bills and amendments to the desk.  In addition, all Pages take classes at the United States Senate Page School.

The opportunity to nominate a student to participate in the Senate Page Program is based on seniority.  As this is my first term in the U.S. Senate, it is unlikely that I will have the ability to nominate a Page in the near future.  Our office will make an announcement as soon as we are notified of the opportunity.

Below are the basic requirements for selection:

  1. Senate Pages must be sponsored by a Senator;
  2. Pages must be citizens of the United States or subject to agreements of the Department of State, and must have a social security number;
  3. Pages must be high school juniors who will be 16 or 17 on or before the date of appointment;
  4. Pages must verify a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a home school transcript and a certification of immunization to quality for attendance at the school;
  5. Pages are required to provide a certificate of immunization and general health assessment completed by a licensed physician. Pages MUST be covered by health insurance; if not covered they will be required to enroll in the Federal employees Health Benefits Program.
