GPO Seeks Comments on Newly Released Public Access Assessment Initial Review Documents Print E-mail

paa-libcomp-ds.jpgThe U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has released two new Public Access Assessment resources, an Initial Review Checklist and Guidelines for Completing the Initial Review. These documents will be used by GPO personnel as they start an assessment of an individual depository library. Focus on Access, Collections, Service, and Cooperative Efforts, an update of the document describing the focus and organization of the assessments, has also been released.  

We encourage you to review these resources, and we welcome your comments. The deadline for comments is Friday, May 23, 2008.

Public Access Assessments: Focus on Access, Collections, and Service Summary of Comments Print E-mail

GPO appreciates the input from the 23 respondents who reviewed and submitted comments in November, 2007 on the Public Access Assessments: Focus on Access, Collections, and Service paper. The paper outlines the focus and organizational scheme of the Public Access Assessment and describes the major categories of Access, Collections, Service, and Overarching Responsibilities to be utilized in the program. GPO is taking all comments into consideration as we review and update the paper.
