Monday, November 24, 2008 Economic Team Brings Experience, Knowledge to Fix Crisis
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-NY) released the following statement today in response to President-elect Barack Obama’s announcement of his economic team:
“President-elect Obama’s early selection of these qualified individuals for his economic team demonstrates an understanding of both the crisis at hand and the need for swift action to help our nation rebuild. I cannot remember the last time an incoming President took such early steps to establish a cabinet of qualified and trusted individuals as President-elect Obama has done.
“Each of these individuals represents the best in their field and will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our Government. They understand, at every level, what is working, what went wrong, and what we need to do to stabilize our financial system and stem the economic crisis. I look forward to working with President-elect Obama and his new economic team in the coming months to advance an aggressive recovery plan to create jobs and restart the engine of our economy.” |
