Reno, NV– Nevada Senator Harry Reid today presented the Hearts & Hands Award to Veterans Affairs nurse Jesse Danen.  Danen not only works as a primary care nurse, but is also the Registered Nurse Coordinator for Internal Medicine, Team Leader for the Healthy Vet class, and Internal Medicine Coordinator for the residents.  In addition to these assignments, Danen created the Employee Health Fair, all while serving on the faculty of the University of Phoenix.

“I would like to thank you for your service to our Nevada veterans,” Reid said.  “Nevada has the fastest growing veteran population in the nation, as one in six Nevadans is a veteran.  Your hard work and attentive care to our military heroes makes you a hero in your own right.  Please accept my gratitude and respect to go along with that of your colleagues and patients.”
