What's Happening -- Exhibit Information

The following are some of the many exhibits currently featured at the USBG.  Click here  for a complete listing of current USBG exhibits.

A Stitch in Vine"A Stitch in Vine": The U.S. Botanic Garden presents its first-ever TEXTILE exhibit with the opening of 'A Stitch in Vine,' featuring botanically themed quilts handmade by artists of the Chesapeake & Potomac Appliqué Guild.

Visitors to A Stitch in Vine will delight in identifying the plants featured in the quilts -- whether they are grapevines, tomatoes, or pomegranates; lemons, melons, or plums; the humble native pokeweed; or tropical anthuriums from our own Jungle in the Conservatory. Even the threads and fabrics (such as cotton) used in the quilts’ construction remind us of the way plants inspire and help us implement our artistic endeavors!  A Stitch in Vine opens on Saturday, February 16, and will remain on display in the West Orangerie of the Conservatory through Sunday, April 27, 2008.      + Learn More
