WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the National Endowment for the Arts has awarded grants totaling $22,500 to two Iowa programs that focus on the Arts.

The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded matching grant funds to facilitate various projects that involve the creation and presentation of artistically excellent work, as described below.
v $10,000 to the University of Iowa in Iowa City to support the presentation of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago at Hancher Auditorium. The two performances will take place outdoors and will be free to the public.
v $12,500 to the Des Moines Metro Opera in Indianola to support artist fees for the Opera Iowa Touring Educational Troupe. The 13-week program will reach students in underserved rural Midwestern schools.
