Nevada Senator Harry Reid visited the Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas this week where he discussed the impact of rising food costs in Nevada. During his tour of the facility Reid discussed the growing number of Nevadans who are turning to food banks for help and what the Farm Bill passed by Congress earlier this year means for organizations addressing the challenges of hunger. "I am proud of this important legislation," said Reid. The Farm Bill is helping feed hungry Nevadans by providing more than $10 billion over the next decade to help low-income families put food on the table, providing $110 million to help food banks and soup kitchens stock their shelves, and tying food stamps to inflation to increase purchasing power." |
